An Artist. A Survivor. A Storyteller.

Meet Jeff Ziegler — a creative spirit whose extraordinary life journey inspired one of the most emotionally gripping memoirs of recent years.

“Trust and be patient so that your prayers will be answered… know that fear will come and go, but the strength built within you will prevail.”

Jeff Ziegler is an artist of the hand and eye, born with a curious mind and a passion for experiencing life beyond convention.

Growing up in Pennsylvania during the 1990s, Jeff initially followed the expected path toward a traditional career in finance. But while studying at university, he realized his true calling wasn’t tied to Wall Street — it was rooted in creativity, nature, freedom, and adventure.

Jeff eventually met his soulmate, Britain, and together they made the bold decision to leave modern American life behind in search of something more meaningful. With their two young sons, they relocated to a remote jungle mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean to build an organic farm and sustainable life from the ground up.

What followed became the foundation of Eight Suitcases and a Dog — a true story filled with breathtaking beauty, devastating hardship, and unimaginable resilience.

After returning to Pennsylvania,  Jeff spent a decade working as a master stonemason before transitioning fully into the world of fine art and writing. Today, he continues to create as a professional artist while sharing his remarkable story with readers around the world.

Jeff lives in Pennsylvania with his wife Britain, while their two sons have grown into young men now attending college.

“An emotionally gripping memoir that seamlessly moves between breathtaking tropical beauty and unimaginable human suffering.”
